Great Lakes Mall is a shopping mall in Mentor, Ohio on Mentor Avenue (U.S. Route 20), about 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Cleveland. The mall has stores such as Macy's, J.C. Penney, Sears, two Dillard's stores and most recently a new Dick's Sporting Goods store added with new construction in 2014. The mall has around 150 stores and was opened in 1961, making it the first and oldest major enclosed shopping mall in Ohio. Olive Garden, Office Max, Max & Erma's, Barnes & Noble and Atlas Cinemas Stadium 16 are in the mall parking lot. The mall is owned by WP Glimcher and contains about 1 million square feet (90,000 m²). On May 28, 2014 it was announced by Simon Property Group that they would transfer Great Lakes Mall to its new spin off Washington Prime Group. Washington Prime Group later became WP Glimcher.
