Khyber Medical College (Urdu: title="Nastaliq">Ø®Ûبر Ø·Ø¨Û Ú©Ø§Ùجâ, Pashto: د Ø®Ûبر طب Ù¾ÙÙÙÚÛâ) is a public medical institution located in the city of Peshawar, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Beside undergraduate medical education, the college offers teaching and research facilities to the postgraduate students, i.e., M. Phil, in all basic Medical Sciences, FCPS in Clinical as well as basic medical sciences, and minor diplomas in many specialties It is one of the several medical schools affiliated with Khyber Medical University and is recognised by PMDC.
History
Khyber Medical College, which is situated at the doorstep of university of Peshawar, occupies in the site of ancient Buddhist academy. In 1954, the foundation stone of Khyber Medical College, as faculty of Medicine, of Peshawar University, was laid by the then Governor General of Pakistan, Mr. Ghulam Muhammad. The College started functioning in 1955 with enrolment of fifty students with meager facilities. From 1955 to present the college hasundergone tremendous development. It remained under the administrative control of health department after parting way from Peshawar University in 1975. Presently, the college and hospital has been given administrative and financial autonomy by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is working under theinstitutional management committee, headed by Chief Executive. This will certainly overcome the problems faced by the faculty members, students and general Public.
Khyber Medical College is a pioneer institutionin KPK in medical education and has created name for itself at national and international level by dedicated work of its staff and students. In fact, it can be proudly called as the mother institution for rest of the medical and dental colleges and other allied medical institution established in KPK over the past twenty five years.

Self Learning Resource Center / Digital Section
The SLRC Digital Section is also active to support the provision of better learning opportunities and resources to the students of Khyber Medical College. The SLRC Digital Section has taken a timely step to establish a computer based self-learning resource center. It is almost ready with facility of 64 latest computers having proper networking, Internet facility and Video Conferencing. This section provides opportunities to the students and faculty of Khyber Medical College to be at par with the modern world. Recenty a video Conferencing facility has been also established to facilitate the students of Khyber Medical College.

Library
Khyber Medical College library was established in September 1955 and has a total of 35,300/- volumes of current Medical books and more than 8,000 bound volumes of journals.
Library is split into three portions, i.e. a lending part for students, a reference part for teachers and a part containing periodicals. The library is well furnished, air-conditioned and offers large collections of books and periodicals to meet the teachers and students requirements.
Accommodations
Khyber Medical College has separate hostels for boys & girls in the permises of Peshawar University campus. For boys there are three hostels naming;
