The Lionsâ"Vikings rivalry is an American football rivalry between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings.
The Lions and Vikings have been battling since the Vikings entered the league in 1961. Minnesota has dominated the series; however, Detroit has given the Vikings many close games over the years. The Vikings went 3â"8â"1 against Detroit before Bud Grant became the head coach of the Vikings in 1967.
